Mardi Gras World

Mardi Gras World is a warehouse in Algiers, LA, directly across the Mississippi River from the French Quarter of New Orleans. The company is basically a Mardi Gras float builder — they produce something like 40 different Mardi Gras parades each year plus floats for various other parades around the country. During the off-season, groups can tour the warehouse or, as was the case with the group I was with, have dinner there. And you don't just get dinner (which was excellent, by the way) but you also get your own private Mardi Gras parade inside the warehouse (it's a big warehouse.) This shot is the masthead of one of the floats stored there.
